Ardnakinna Lighthouse, Co. Cork

In 1847, the Admiralty recommended that a beacon should mark the western entrance to Castletownbere. Constructed in 1850, it was capped in 1863 and lit two years later. Ardnakinna stands 62 meters above high water and has a range of 17 nautical miles, flashing 2 white and 1 red every 10 seconds.
